VCU Represents at UDC Richmond Qualifier

The Ultimate Dodgeball Championship (UDC) hosted by Sky Zone has been been active since 2012, and features dodgeballers from across the United States and the rest of the world. Teams compete in qualifiers at their local Sky Zone to try and earn a chance to play for the world championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.

One of the qualifiers took place in Richmond, home of the Dodgeball Club at VCU, and was a perfect chance for players to go out and compete. The round-robin tournament featured four teams from all over the Richmond area who came to play. The ultimate winners were Dinosaur Ice Machine, a team that featured two VCU players, Eric Fisher, and myself, Hunter Ford. Dinosaur Ice Machine was able to play at a high level throughout the tournament, and finished without conceding a single point during their championship run. From the victories, they were able to qualify for the UDC finals in Vegas, and will look to showcase their talents with the rest of the world.

There will be plenty of action, plenty of memories, and plenty of rewards as well. The winning team of the UDC will earn $20,000 for their team, and bragging rights as some of the best dodgeball players to exist. Will they be successful in their challenge? Only time will tell. Competition will be tough, but it will only serve as fuel for all the teams looking to take the top prize.

The tournament will run August 4-7 and be available for viewing online. Be sure to check in and see some awesome dodgeball, and support some of your VCU Dodgeball players!
